Lost Dungeons of Norrath Guide

Lost Dungeons of Norrath (LDoN) is an expansion that allows groups of adventurers from level 20-65 to hunt in instanced zones. It also gives you the ability to travel between Magus NPC’s who can teleport you to various zones.

The adventure LDoN Camps can be found in the following zones:

Butcherblock Mountains

East Commonlands

North Ro

South Ro

Everfrost

Magus NPC’s can also be found in the guild hall (off the Plane of Knowledge), Nedaria’s Landing, Natimbi and the Abysmal Sea. Note that you can get to Nedaria’s Landing from any of the LDoN Magus NPC’s, but you can only get to Natimbi and the Abysmal Sea from the Magus in Nedaria’s Landing. Also be aware that you can only travel out from the Magus in the guild hall but cannot travel back to her. To travel back, you would need to head to one of the LDoN camps mentioned above. To teleport via the Magus, just hail the NPC and tell her where you want to go, E.g. East Commonlands, Nedaria etc.

To be able to use the Magus for teleporting, you must get an adventurer’s stone by following this quest:

Once you reach level 15, you will receive a "mysterious message" telling you to go back to your home town. If you are not sure what town you started in, you can also go to the Rathe Mountains gypsy camp or the SE corner of Western Karana. Once you arrive there, you will receive another "mysterious message" telling you to find a specific NPC. You need to find the person mentioned and hail him. He will tell you about the wayfarer camps and mention 5 more NPC's - one per camp. Head to a camp and talk to the NPC there and he will ask you some questions. Answer them and you will get flagged to use the adventure system and the Magus teleports that take you from camp to camp.

Answers to the Questions:

Question 1: adventures

Question 2: favor journal

Question 3: Morden Rasp

Question 4: Farstones

Note that at 15 you cannot yet adventure, but you can use the Magus for teleporting. You will have to wait until level 20 to start adventuring.

When you are ready to adventure, head to one of the LDoN camps with your group and request an instance from one of the NPC’s. You can choose different levels of adventuring, from easy to hard. LDoN adventures are for 3+ persons and you must be within 10 levels of each other to group. Each time you win an adventure, you earn points, with which you can buy gear and spells from the adventure merchants at the camps.

Each camp has it’s own adventure merchant that sells different items. To buy an item from a particular merchant, you need to gain points by adventuring from that camp. Each camp has it’s own instance 'theme' name, detailed below:

Butcherblock Mountains = Mistmoore Catacombs

East Commonlands = Rujarkian Hills

Everfrost Peak’s = Miragul’s Menagerie

Northern Desert of Ro – Takish-Hiz

Southern Desert of Ro – Deepest Guk

The adventurer’s stone is not just a stone, it is also an augmentation, which means that you can combine it with another item for it to gain power. This particular augmentation can only be combined with a charm item (as detailed below it says restriction: charm). There are various small charms items you can buy from the adventurer merchant for a low cost. To combine your charm with the adventurer’s stone, use one of the augmentation pools at the LDoN Camps. The augmentation pool looks like a small bird bath (which is what they are more commonly referred to). Right click on the augmentation pool and place your adventurer’s stone and charm in the two free slots and hit combine. If you do not combine your stone with a charm, it will not gain any power (or stats).

Every second time you win an instance, you can improve the power of your stone by getting ‘more information’ from the NPC’s by hailing him or her at the applicable camp. It is important to do this, to improve the stats on your stone. The NPC’s to hail are listed below:

Butcherblock Mountains = Vual Stoutest

East Commonlands = Barstre Songweaver

Northern Desert of Ro = Ruanya Windleaf

Southern Desert of Ro = Selephra Giztral

Everfrost = Teria Grinntli

Just a quick note regarding augmentations. Some augmentations can fit into any weapon or item with a free slot, whereas others must fit particular slot types. For example if the Augmentation Type was 7 or 8, then you must find an item to combine it with that has free slots for either a type 7 or 8 augmentation - otherwise it won't fit. With the restrictions (slot/class/race), you must again check that the augmentation you are purchasing will fit into the slot that you want it to and that your class and race can use it.
