If you are in a large guild and plan to raid Vex Thal, you will need a key to enter the zone. This zone is full of very nice drops and good raiding opportunities.

A good level to start thinking about collecting your shards is 55.

You will need a group in most cases, to get these shards.

It is an idea to keep track of your shards, as after a while you won't remember which you have, as they all look the same! A way around this is to ask an enchanter, necro, mage or wizard to cast an identify spell on each item, which will tell you which shards you have. Alternatively, there are items you can buy or quest, which also identify items.

You will also need a glowing orb of luclinite (see quest, mob list too long), a planes rift (Ssraeshza Temple - A Shissar Wraith), summoned wisp stone (ask a mage) and essence emerald (ask a 45 + level necro). The shadowed Scepter Frame is given to you after you hand in the essence emerald to the The Spirit of Akelha`Ra in Akheva ruins. This frame is a container, used to combine your 10 shards together.
